Essex

Set amongst 35 beautiful acres in the North Essex village of Wakes Colne sits Jordan's Farm. A haven for wildlife, this small farm has BIG eco ambitions to create a healthier world...

When I first visited Jordan's Farm I was in complete awe. A rewilding project, a flower farm to encourage locally grown bouquets, chickens, goats, owls...and Alex, the woman behind it all.  The eco-driven dream behind Jordan's Farm is one I understand and share. To be able to offer workshops here, alongside a woman with a love of this earth that aligns with my own, is very exciting!

Join me for a day of creativity, inspiration, and earthy autumnal magic as we explore the fascinating world of fungi through art. Hosted in the peaceful surroundings of Jordan's Farm, this immersive workshop day offers two sessions — attend either one or stay for the whole day (with a delicious homemade lunch included for full-day participants).

Morning Session (10:30am–12:30pm)– Drawing & Painting Mushrooms

We'll relax into the session with a gentle wander through the farm, gathering inspiration from the wild mushrooms and fungi around us. Back in the barn, and guided by Victoria, you’ll work with pencil, watercolour, and ink to capture the unique forms, colours and textures of the fungi. A mindful, observational session perfect for both beginners and experienced artists who want to slow down, look closely, and connect with the natural world through drawing and painting.

Lunch Break (12:30–1:30pm) - For Full-Day Participants

Enjoy a nourishing, homemade vegetarian lunch and take a  moment to rest, chat, and refuel for the afternoon ahead.

Afternoon Session (1:30pm-4pm) – Fungi Linocut Printmaking

A short wander through the farm begins the afternoon session, giving new arrivals the opportunity to gather inspiration for their work and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Jordan's Farm. For full-day participants, it’s a chance to walk off your lunch and stretch your legs before diving into the afternoon’s creative work. Back in the barn you'll design and carve your own fungi-themed linocut print, learning how to transfer your ideas onto lino, carve your block, and print by hand.  We'll be working with non~toxic, animal~friendly, vegetable oil based inks to create your prints, ready to take home and frame!

Please note that no art experience is necessary, as this workshop is about connecting with nature and yourself through creativity and the truly fun medium of print. It is completely beginner friendly

All art materials, water, and freshly brewed tea and coffee are included in this workshop. Full-day participants also receive lunch.
